Use arrow keys. You can break a tile in front of you by pressing A and place one by pressing B. Here, you have the most important variables shown on the screen : Player Y, Player X, and the players direction. Have fun! Also, feel free to remix and transform it (with credit) into something else! Would be nice to see the creativity of other scratchers.
Here's a look at the world's most simplest 3D game engine. Used in the first ever "3D" game known as 3D Monster Maze originaly created for the ZX-80 and 81 by Sinclair Spectrum. I re-created it using simple graphics commands and CGA mode using Microsoft Quick Basic on my Pentium-100, but really, it can work on just about anything as long as it can run some form of BASIC. It also uses the poke and peek instructions that I had to experiment with a lot in order to get it to work. Those instructions are used to read and write bytes of data directly to system memory in order to save the maze data. Over here on this website, I re-created it yet again on Scratch this time. This version allows you to explore a simple pre-defined maze I created. The maze data is stored in the maze list. Thanks to 'All sounds' on YouTube for the digging and placing sound effect.
