RAQ: "What's it about?" This story begins with Ink, before he destroys his soul. Something- codes- allows him to escape, with his soul half broken. The first place he appears? Markettale, an incredibly dangerous AU usually visited by thousands of other AU travellers, complete with its own black market. Ink meets Cross, who gives him a name, clothes, everything. The fanfic explores the Multiverse with these two, slowly revealing Ink's powers and true identity as a Protector, as well as Cross's reason for no longer teaming with either of the Guardians. As for Dimming Light, I actually made a proper synopsis. After Error briefly captures Dream, he comes back acting almost exactly as before. He smiles, attends Council meetings, helps others, and repeatedly insists that he's fine. But, something has changed. Dream is experiencing "smiling depression", becoming emotionally numb, and losing his ability to sense other people's emotions. Since empathy is central to how he understands the world, the loss terrifies him. He begins to wonder if he's capable of being everyone else's "hope" when he can't even sense their despair. Can Dream choose to care for people even when he can't feel their emotions? And more importantly, will he ever get them back? Or does the apathy mean he's broken? It's a slow burn psychological hurt/comfort story based off the song "Numb Little Bug". "Main Conflict?" There's a type of Corruption in the Multiverse, called "fasad" (named by Killer). Rather than aim to kill people themselves, they try to turn people against each other, to watch the Multiverse collapse itself. It kills the host in days if it resists. Ink is the only one who can heal this, since he has a powerful Coding (that he doesn't know how to use). DL: Dream's depression "This reminds me a lot of ___" Well, first of all, it's a fanfic, of course it does. Second, no, this isn't an infection AU. Although, that WOULD be cool, I don't have the brain to keep it like that ^^; This fanfic is mainly based off "For The Forgotten Ones" by Im_Sorry_Buddy. You can read THAT on AO3 or on Tumblr.
