Current Turn: N/A Belligerents: > Coalition Of The Willing (Major Lords) - N/A > Third United Front (Ke'Fron and minor lords) - N/A Present Events: Surprising resistance by the United Front, Coalition of the Willing losses mounting. [}{] LORE [}{] After a series of skirmishes between the major lords, the High Lord of Auvued (High Lord XVI) has declares an era of expansion to quell the infighting and preserve the system, thus the Coalition Of The Willing formed, lead by the High Lord personally. It is comprised of the four major lords' personal domains and several minor warlords in vassalage to them. The goal of the coalition war to expand the nation outwards into unclaimed territory, a task they thought would be easy. However, the outer reaches of Auvued are occupied by many independent warlords who don't particularily want to be invaded (see "duel in the outer reaches" for more info) and they formed the third United Front to prevent a total collapse of their lines. Taking advantage of the war and the perceived weakness of the current high lord, the Ke'Fron officially joined the United Front and rose up, forming the bulk of the United Front's larger warship force and much of the high command, giving this United Front much better coordination and leadership than previous ones. The Initial battles occured primarily in the southern reaches of Auvued, gunboats harassed the fleet of the high lord for days whilst he moved south, both weakening it and deceiving the high lord into believing the fleet awaiting him was much weaker than it actually was. At the Battle of Stannum, the Ke'Fron began their first great offensive in history, but it began with a retreat. A force of gunboats feigned damage to their FTL systems after a skirmish and transmitted easily intercepted messages about retreating to the nearby base where the United Front had all it's generals; a prize no lord could give up. The High Lord took the bait and followed the gunboats with his fleet from a distance, straight into a dence asteroid field where his ships' shields took some damage and were forced to move slowly, allowing the gunboats to clear the area. When the High Lord's ships cleared the asteroid field, they were not met by gunboats or a prize but five type 92 destroyers (Aurum, Argentum, Aeris and Ferrum). The High Lord laughed at this pitiful force initially, firing off the few missiles on his ships (intercepted by CIWS fire and interceptors fired by the destroyers) before moving to close to range of his guns, one cruiser and two destroyers were disabled by missile fire from the destroyers. Whilst their fleet's standard guns were still far from effective range, the destroyers began a cannonade of fire from the experimental railguns fit as their primary armament, cutting through several of the leading ships, disabling 3 gunboats and a pair of destroyers and a stray shot struck the heavy cruiser "Ruinator" (which was leading the assault) and punched through into and through the ship's ammunition reserves, igniting them and causing a massive internal explosion which destroyed the ship in moments, leading the High Lord's personal flagship battleship to lead the front, a role it was ill suited to being a primarily ceremonial craft. after continuing to push forwards and reaching the edge of their guns' effective range, a projectile from a railgun of Aeris struck just below the High Lord's bridge, causing severe damage and an explosion directly within the bridge that struck the High Lord - who may i remind you is not in the best health already - directly and sent him flying, injuring both the host of and the High Lord themselves. after recovering briefly from his injuries the High Lord gave the retreat order and their fleet began retreating under fire.
