Carbon Engine is an SSS engine made by 4 people that's meant for people with a moderate amount of experience modding base SSS and want to make mods with extra features without suffering extra bloat from base SSS. this has - hold note clipping - modular bgs - note splashes - somewhat decent optimization - characters in one sprite - even more features!
