. Hello and welcome to Lost to the sea :) This roleplay is a little complicated so I'm just going to explain everything here, but if you have anything to ask, feel free! . How to start... You've probably seem one or two roleplays where you join through litters. This works similarly, except there's a catch: you don't pick your characters. So what happens is, everyone who wishes to get a character will remix this project (coming soon) and fill out the form. Once people start hosting litters, I'll ask the hosts to view remixes and decide who should get which kittens. The people chosen have 48 hours to accept or decline the kit. If the kit chosen for them has a condition that should be researched, then they must research it and post it in the project. If you don't know what research is: if your character has a condition or disability, you have to research it in order to make sure it is portrayed accurately. For special litters, such as kickstarter litters or event litters, people will have to remix the litter project instead of the application project. All kits from litters (with the exception of event litters) will start at 1 moon, and will grow by one moon each Friday. Survival... Many things can affect your character's survival. It can be random, or it can be controlled by roleplayers. Each moon, every cat in the Clan will eat as much prey as they need (scroll down to see how much prey each cat needs) according to the feeding order. Kits, elders and sick/injured cats eat first, followed by the other ranks. Kits (3-6 moons) will need 0.5 peices of prey/moon Apprentices(6-12) will need 1 peice of prey/moon Warriors/other ranks (12+) will need 2 peices of prey/moon. If the clan does not have enough food for all members, all cats who didn't get fed will not survive. Herbs are also important. Supply of each herb is tracked, and the amount of a specific herb increases when a medicine cat gathers it, and decrease when it is used. If there's none of a herb, it cannot be used. Medicine cats must roleplay with a sick/injured cat in order for them to heal them. If the medicine cats have treated the cat correctly, that cat has a good chance to heal. But it can still take a long time to fully recover, depending on the illness/injury. Minor illnesses or injuries are usually like bruises, scratches, cold, and similar things like that. They can usually heal quickly. Moderate illnesses/injuries would be like whitecough, greencough, and other things. A cat would have to receive more treatments from a medicine cat to heal. Severe illnesses/injuries are much harder to heal than a moderate illness/injury. A medicine cat would have to do a lot of treatments for the condition to improve. A condition usually stays the same severity until it's healed(like a moderate illness stays moderate) unless the cat gets another illness/injury, or something happens to the injury or illness (like if an injury gets infected, it becomes severe.) (TW: sacrifice) For thousands of moons, WaveClan has had to give its kits to The Sea. Every two moons, all kits are taken to the Sea Stones, large rocks near the sea. The kits must sit on the rocks, and for every ten cats in the clan, a wave will take one kit into The Sea. If a sacrifice does not occur, The Sea will send many disasters towards WaveClan; diseases, bad weather, and some cats may even be cursed... Although the island may seem peaceful at first, WaveClan must still compete with other animals living there. If there's no one guarding the camp, a bird of prey can fly in and steal a kit, a wolf can attack camp, and many other things can happen. Doing frequent border patrols and camp guarding can help prevent some of this, though some of it can still happen. Even if the camp is well guarded, danger still lurks in the Clan. Not all kits in a litter survive; illness is common, and predators hide on the island. Even with enough food, some kits may fail to thrive. (In real life, only about ~30% of kittens survive in the wild) There is also a Warrior Code that the clan follows. It's better explained in this project: FAQ: Q: How many characters can you have? A: As of now, you can only have one living character, to encourage people to connect to their character's life. Q: Why can't you just sign up a character? A: The roleplay is designed to be realistic and focuses on survival, relationships, and life. Your character would be born into a family, grow , meet others, form relations, etc. Then you'll get to see and experience your character's whole life, start to finish, instead of just signing them up and making a backstory for them.
