. . The island is inhabited by just one Clan, WaveClan. Were there other Clans, long ago? Nobody knows... The island is covered in sand, with tall, green-leafed trees forming forests all across the island. It does snow a bit during leaf-bare, but during newleaf and greenleaf, it's quite warm. WaveClan's territory spans over almost the entire island, with the exception of a heavily-wooded part of the island, known as the Shadowed Forest; rogues as well as dangerous animals like owls and wolves are known to live there. Twolegs have never been seen since WaveClan was created (Which, by the way, is a really long time (5500 moons)!) . Click on any named spot on the map, and it will tell you a little bit about the place. . WaveClan History Creation Many, many moons ago, a lot of Twolegs captured a lot of Clan cats from their homes. Then, the Twolegs traveled over the seas and took the cats with them. But the journey was anything but easy; the seas were stormy. Eventually, something happened, and the captured Clan cats somehow ended up in the water. When they woke up, they were washed up in this island. They've heard that some islands had other islands nearby, but there are no other islands as far as the eye can see. Other than birds and wolves and other animals, no one else was here. So Wavesong, a former Medicine Cat, founded WaveClan. At first, all parts of the island were WaveClan's territory. But some cats didn't want to be Clan cats, so they left and took the Shadowed Forest. The Warrior code changed over time to what it is now. Shrimpstar's Curse Once, there was a leader named Shrimpstar. During Shrimpstar's reign, there were barely any cats in WaveClan, so Shrimpstar stopped the sacrifices to The Sea. Nothing happened for ten moons. In that time, WaveClan got more cats. But on the eleventh moon, while Shrimpstar and their mate Splashclaw were walking near the Sea Stones, the waves suddenly became stronger, and Shrimpstar was knocked into The Sea. Shimmeringlake, Shrimpstar's deputy, became leader and realized that The Sea took Shrimpstar because they refused to do the sacrifies, so Shimmeringstar continued the sacrifices. Later, when Splashclaw's and Shrimpstar's kits were born, they were all cursed by The Sea: any cat they touched would be drained of their energy and life until they let go; The Sea chose this punishment because it is always seen as 'deadly', just because it relies on sacrifices for (kind of?) survival, so now, Shrimpstar's descendants will now also be seen in the same light, because they rely on the curse..Their descendants still live on in the Clan, but the curse is passed down to all kits. StarClan and the Dark Forest ceased to exist many moons ago. At first, no one could find a reliable way to see StarCan, but after several moons, it was clear that StarClan had stopped watching . WaveClan traditions (warning: sacrifice) Under the full moon's light, every two moons every kit in the Clan is bought to the Sea Stones, where they sit. They may not move. Each other member must watch this ceremony. As the kits sit on the Stones, for every ten cats in the clan, a wave knocks a kitten in The Sea. Those kits are carried away into the endless sea, never to be seen again. If a sacrifice does not occur, The Sea will go hungry. It only happened once, but the consequences weren't very good... Missing a ceremony will result in a punishment, depending on what the current leader sees fit. Every three moons, the Leader will call a ceremony to call all Warriors. Then , the leader will select two warriors to make mates. Out of roleplay, the leader's roleplayer can either randomize it or pick the cats themselves. However, people may not ask oorp to make two specific cats mates.
