Presenting.. A true feat in engineering.. The ISV ' ' STELLAR ORION ' ' The STELLAR ORION, also known as the Orion, is built for one sole purpose. . . Venture into the unknown. . . These giant metal behemoths are built for interplanetary travel between stellar bodies. The Orion, along with 2 other ISVs, will be constructed in geo-stationary orbit above HANESS, which should take about 5-8 months. The ISVs will each crew about 200 Entrophians, along with other species, with 600 in total across the 3 ships. Once built, the crew members will board the ISVs and prepare for their 30-year journey to HEME. Once prepped and ready, the crew will prepare for cryo-sleep. This is where the autopilot gets engaged. The ISVs are about 1.9 km long. Here's where the journey begins. A huge solar sail will be deployed at the front of the ship, and lasers on HANESS will propel the Orion through deep-space. After about 10 years, the lasers will ineffective, disabled, and the solar sail will be stowed away. After a couple years (3-5) pass, the ship will flip 180 degrees, pointing the matter-antimatter engines to face forward, (or the direction the vessel is traveling.) Once all checks are made and it is safe to proceed, the giant matter-antimatter engines will be enabled. From here on, the matter-antimatter engines will be active and burning for the rest of the trip. These will slow the vessel down, along with minor course-correction burns from the smaller nuclear engines to make sure the matter-antimatter thrusters are oriented the correct direction. These will help the Orion enter orbit around HEME. Once close to the target planet, the matter-antimatter thrusters will disengage, and go cold. The nuclear engines will then assist with orbital correction burns, to get the vessel in a geo-stationary orbit around HEME. The large radiators at the rear where the matter-antimatter engine is will glow orange for days, while they cool down the engine itself. Just before orbit, the crew will be woken up. Once in orbit, two of the four MKII refitted peacekeeper vessels will undock and go planetfall. - - - Returning to the transit phase. When the vessel does a 180-degree flip, the mirror shields protecting the entirety of the ship from space debris will be ineffective. At speeds such as the speed of light, even the slightest amount of space debris or object can be extremely fatal if collided with. Without the mirror shields, there's no real protection against objects for the ship. Therefore, the matter-antimatter engine itself will act as a shield, burning any object in its path.
