Chapter 1, "The Long-Expected Party," has been written, and development has started on the game's engine. (This is going to be harder than I thought...) Little Frodo sprite art! It's a bonus. :) Use keys 1, 2, 3, and 4 on your keyboard to play the corresponding songs: 1 - "The Fellowship Beset" -- A battle theme that plays when the player and company encounters an enemy and becomes engaged in battle. I hope you'll hear that awesome motif from Howard Shore's soundtrack (near the end, about 40 secs in)! You'll be hearing a lot of that in the soundtrack for my game. Also, the track was made to be loopable, so that's why there's kind of an odd ending and beginning to it. 2 - "The History of the Ring" -- The main Ring theme, already included in my previous project. 3 - "Rohan Motif" -- This theme is very pretty, is usually played in Howard Shore's soundtrack with a high-pitched violin, and it is played to signify something to do with Rohan, so, really, it wasn't necessary to make it yet-- as Rohan doesn't become too prevalent a musical identity until The Two Towers. But, I'm having fun. :) 4 - "The Road Goes Ever On and On." -- This is the walking tune from the book, and Gandalf as well as Bilbo in the movie can both be heard faintly singing it. The melody is roughly what they sung. I intend to use this audio during two cutscenes; - The lower-pitched second version when Gandalf first arrives to the Shire at the beginning of the game, - The higher-pitched first version when Bilbo sets off from the Shire after "The Long-Expected Party." The Road goes ever on and on, Down from the door where it began, Now far along the road has gone, And I must follow if I can!
Credits to J.R.R. Tolkien, Peter Jackson, Howard Shore, etc. And me for composing this stuff in Beepbox :P Comment which track is your favorite so far!
