Okay, so this brings up some concerns. The shorts have already been meticulously remastered throughout the years. Why would ai upscaling be needed? I could be making mountains out of mole hills, but I’m concerned this might be a premonition for potential ai remastering of cartoons and film in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if the people in charge of remastering old films would be too lazy to hire engineers, or just using ai to appear “current and with the times”, or in other words using ai for the sake of using ai. As an avid Looney Tunes and cartoon fan, I would be furious if that happened. Imagine how bad the footage would look? At least without proper quality control. But these are just clips that were posted on TikTok, so nothing major. Still begs the question why they upscaled the clips in the first place.
