Arrow Keys
I wanted to try making a randomly generated room system, inspired by Berzerk https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berzerk_(video_game) This isn't a full game (I have some ideas for how I could use this, but nothing concrete). My main goal was to create a room generator that: 1. saves rooms you've been to. 2. creates new rooms with doorways that align with existing rooms (I have noticed rare cases where this fails; I have yet to figure out how to fully do this). I had originally intended to use a seed-based approach to rooms, keeping them consistent across sessions; however, due to how the rooms get generated, depending on the order in which you explore the rooms, you could still get different results. It also seemed to keep making a room with 4 doors in a check pattern despite everything I tried (Scene 0,0 is hardcoded to be an empty 4-way every time). While the generator idea was inspired by Berzerk, if I am to make something out of this, I'd like to make it more about exploration and collecting useful items (I'd give the player a small inventory as well, to keep it interesting) As always, if you have any feedback/ideas for this, please let me know.
