Chapter Nineteen: Truth Unveiled Veeronica was falling, and falling, and falling. As she fell, memories flashed through her head. Taph accidentally waking her up in the alley, walking around trying to find her purpose in life, finding Amarah and becoming a graffiti artist, until, finally, the crash. The thing that brought her here. But reminiscing on the past wouldn't help, as she was still falling and had no idea when or even if she would hit the ground. She was hurtling through a bright, black and white space, no end in sight. But suddenly, she saw a black ground hurtling toward her, and she put her arms in front of her face, because she knew the landing would hurt. She closed her eyes, expecting a crash any second, but there was nothing. Slowly, she opened her eyes and saw herself hovering a few inches above the ground, as if something was holding her up. But then she fell face-first, but quickly got to her feet, looking around. The ground was pitch black, and the sky was shining red and white. In the distance, something hovered in the air, a slight humming sound emitting from it. Veeronica cautiously walked toward it, the hum turning into a ring as she approached. She was standing directly below it, and she saw the arms and legs. It was a person. The person was completely black with a red outline; the only other thing she could see was its white eyes. Staring right at her. Vee fell backwards as the figure dropped to the ground, still watching her. ‘H-hello? Who are you?” She asked, getting back on her feet. “My name, is the Spectre.” It said, its deep voice echoing. “Are you the… thing that trapped us here?” The Spectre chuckled, deep, booming, and menacing. “Trapped? You got it all wrong. Every last one of you was on the brink of death, so I brought you here to give you more purpose. After all, it's better to suffer while living than eternity after.” Veeronica shivered. If what this thing was saying was true, then if they left, they would be dead? “I… I don't believe you! We want out!” Vee said, slightly scared of its response. The Spectre laughed loudly before becoming serious again, his eyes blazing. “You think you have a right to make demands? I give you food, water, sleep, a shelter from DEATH, and all I ask in return is a little ENTERTAINMENT! But apparently, IM THE BAD GUY!” The Spectre grew bigger along with his rage, until he was standing tall over Veeronica. ‘You're lucky, little worm, that ill spare you for now. You can go back to your friends, and you can tell them what happened down here. But if ANY of you try to escape again… it won't be pretty.” And with that, Veeronica was back in the cabin.
Five months later… The crip autumn winds gently shook what little leaves the trees still had, making a few orange and gold leaves slowly drop off the trees and drift down. The stars shined beyond the cloud, promising something better for the people down below. All the survivors sat on logs surrounding a small campfire, not talking, just… thinking. Five months of this torture. Five months of keeping secrets from each other. The fire crackled to fill in the silence, until Shedletsky sat up from the log he was lying on with a sigh. “Welp, if we're never going to get out of here, might as well just admit it.” He said. “Most of us have something to hide, and we will never be able to move past it unless we just tell each other. I'll go first. I created 1x.” Everyone was silent, shocked at what Shed had just said. But none of them were mad. Things like anger get put behind you here. “Why'd ya do that?” Chance said, staring into the sky while they idly flipped their coin into the air. “1x is a creation of my hatred. I wanted to become godlike, so I removed all my negative emotions from my body. And it created 1x.” Veeronica scoffed. “Trying to become a god, huh? That'll do it alright.” Dusekkar sighed and leaned forward. ‘Speaking of gods… I did something quite stupid myself.” “Dont call yourself stupid,” Elliot said. “We've made mistakes.” Noob added. ‘Well… after 1x killed Shed… I was down. I searched high and low for a way to save him. Eventually, I found myself to the Spawn cult.” Dusekkar said, “Its not a cult,” Two Time muttered more to themself than anything. “I did a ritual to sacrifice myself to bring Shed back, but… it failed, and thats how im here.” Everyone was silent again. “That was a very stupid, but very brave thing you did, Dusekkar.” Builderman said. “Its kinda cool how the seasons still change here, dont you think?” Veeronica said to Guest. “Yeah, it is pretty cool.” Guest looked at his watch, looking as the time slowly ticked, reaching closer to midnight. ‘Its almost time!” He said, sitting up. Everyone else grabbed the pumpkin heads they had carved and waited to light the candles inside. “Three… two…. one… Happy Halloween-” Guests voice was cut off as the ground rumbled, the sky turning black and red. “What the heck…?” Noob asked. After a few seconds, the rumbling stopped. ‘It appears a new round timer is here,” Two Time said. Builderman looked up at the timer. “Huh, that's new and slightly alarming.” Chance said, still flipping his coin, as the timer clicked closer to zero. Slowly, the timer clicked down, and their vision went to black. THE LAST PART IS A WIP SO IT MIGHT TAKE A BIT BEFORE I UPLOAD IT SO PLS BE PATIENT <3
