hiii i went to the outsiders yesterday ^_^ song in background is maggots for brains by Olivia Rodrigo! this is the photo dump portion! show notes are in notes and credits! warning they'll probably be really out of order 1-2: cast and understudies! i had jordyboy :D 3: my playbill! my mom said that she apparently didn’t know that it was opening night when she got tickets lmaooo 4: pre-show! i was nerding out bc the design that i took that photo of is based on the original cover for the outsiders 5: JORDYBOY!!!! my mom pointed him out onstage and i went insaneeeeee 6: intermission (i screamed when i noticed the change to the design) 7: post show! i was def crying but yall don’t get to see that bc privacy 8: met bonale fambrini (johnny)! he’s so sweet omg. he really loved the bracelets i made him and my mom mentioned i act and he told me to keep acting :’) btw i gave almost every actor 2 bracelets that’s gonna be important in a minute trustttt (omg I js noticed were really close in height what :sob:) 9: got moved up at stagedoor i was very happy :3 10: jackson reigan (soda)! he was very sweet and asked my name and i kinda freaked out. he really loved the bracelets i made :D 11: JAYDON NGET (TWO-BIT)!!!! i was actually going insane i admire him smmmmm. he was so nice and when i said two bit was one of my favorite characters he side eyed me lmao (in a joking manner). also he’s wearing the bracelets i made him in the photo!!! (one says two bit and the other says hoods turned heroes) 12-14: Jordan Deandre Williams (Ponyboy)!! He was SO nice he probably stayed to talk to me the longest out of all the actors i met. I told him that i was thinking about performing great expectations at my school talent show and he said i totally should. 15: Tyler Jordan Wesley (Dally)! he was so nice :D i didn’t rlly get the chance to talk to him but it was still cool meeting him :3 tbh I wish I had more photos but I don't have my own phone :sigh:
act 1: - rodney!steve was doing the worm during ggah - jaydon!two-bit was so energetic WHAT - two-bit dancing suggestively with jackson!soda then soda pushing him off like "dude we're gonna get allegations" or smth HELP - "ain't that right ace?" "you wish :)" - during ggah travis!darry took tyler!dally's bat offstage idk if he was supposed to do that - during runs in the family jordan!ponyboy and bonale!johnny were sitting right next to each other! it looked kind of like they were holding hands and also johnny kept nudging ponyboy to ask darry about the drive in - travis's vocals >>> - "its because you're so BRAINEYYY" - "I usually dream about hamburgers and flying saucers. OH! and sometimes *weird ahh gesture* ANN MARGARET IS SERVING THE HAMBURGERS!" - great expectations had me ascending - btw ig there was a projector available at the theater I was at bc they projected scenes from cool hand luke during tulsa '67 and kept projecting stars during the scenes at night - "I got a hershey barrrr :D" - wow Johnny can run fast someone sign this boy up for cross country or smth - emma!cherry, katie!marcia, and alyssa!bev's mics were ON during friday at the drive-in - the dance break in friday at the drive-in was so cool - ok I am not sure how to explain ts but during the drive in scene when cherry said that ponyboy and johnny should sit with her and marcia there was a whole nonverbal exchange that was basically ponyboy motioning for johnny to sit with the soc girls, johnny refusing, ponyboy forcing him to go over, flipping up his jacket collar to seem tough, then nudging johnny to do the same - when marcia introduced herself ponyboy nudged johnny and gave him a look obliviousboy curtis OPEN YOUR EYES - "THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE! AIN'T IT JOHNNY?" *awkward laughter from johnny* "...yeah. outlaws." - two-bit and delaney!ace what are you two doing under that bench... - ace and two bit hugged johnny in the background while cherry and pony were at the concession stand <3 - my whole theater laughed when cherry said "you've read great expectations?" - "well.. you know i'm generally an artistic person!" *loud laughter from the audience* - when cherry said "I was under the impression you'd never read a book at all" someone near me said "I mean its possible" - "is there a problem... rrrROBERT?" - when cherry broke up with Bob my entire theater just went "ooooohhhh" - "...yeah. so that didn't feel too good :< not gonna lie :/" - when johnny said that pony had talked to cherry soda just yelled "NO **** THE SOC?????" and hugged pony then like dapped up johnny - "i'll fold the laundry" *mimes folding laundry* "I will fold ALL OF IT" - far away from tulsa >>> - ok let me nerd out for a minute THE LIGHTING DESIGN DURING RUN RUN BROTHER OH MY GOD LIKE CAN I SAY ITS SOME OF THE BEST LIGHTING DESIGN IVE EVER SEEN act 2: - justice for tulsa was staged in such an interesting way I'm actually doing a play that's a mockumentary rn and it reminded me of the way some of the scenes i'm in are staged - "hydrogen peroxide" "NO" "you have to!" "why wont you?" "BECAUSE I WON'T LOOK GOOD BLOND?" - Marcia getting pulled back to the soc's side by bev and cherry just running off like she was gonna cry during justice for tulsa... - ☹ deaths at my door ☹ the hug ☹☹ ow ☹ - the scene right before throwing in the towel OH MY GODDD it was so well acted - throwing in the towel scratched some older sibling itch in me :') - the stay gold instrumentals during the sunset scene... ominous foreshadowing - "...what's it mean?" "...I don't know." "hmmm." do they share one braincell or smth - ponyboy looked so betrayed both times he was told he looked like burt lancaster - "I would take a bullet for you two!" (ominous foreshadowing...) (ok not in this version but you get it) - the fire :( - johnny yelling "PONYBOY!" as he ran into the church :( - hoods turned heroes was so amazing the energy levels were like OFF THE CHARTS - there were projections of newspapers during hoods turned heroes :o - "I don't want to disappear no more" stop. no. why. - hopeless war >>> - THE RUMBLE!! - pony grabbing a soc to punch and it was johnny and then him screaming johnny's name twice oh god... - JOHNNYS HAND GOING LIMP IN PONYS AND PONY JUST BACKING AWAY SAYING "no no no no no no!" AND COLLAPSING ON THE FLOOR I AM UNWELL - during little brother soda started to hug pony who was just sobbing - dally no. dally your vocals are too strong. your acting is too realistic. they're gonna hit you with a train dally. - ponyboy going from whispering shut up to full on SCREAMING IT I am unwell - pony holding on to Johnnys clothes. that's it :( - stay gold UGHGHGHGHG I sobbed - the kid in front of me did the absolute cinema gesture after stay gold - when Johnny came back onstage during the finale and stood on the car smiling when they said "looking down Johnny Cade will smile again" I sobbed into my hands ok bye
