HERES THE LORE: A pale wyrm arrives at what is hallownest at the time, after decades of searching for a new land after Pharloom was taken over by Grand Mother Silk. It is too late when he arrives, and he is dying. When he dies, he sacrifices his power and shape to be rebirthed as the Pale King. The Pale King emits a light, which the bugs of Hallownest are drawn to, and they make him their king. In return, the Pale King makes them a lot smarter, which leads them to building the advanced kingdom of Hallownest. He takes over much of Hallownest, but eventually his fame spreads too far. The moth tribe hears about this higher being, and one by one they forget about the Radiance, their creator and god, and turn towards the Pale King. The Radiance of course is angry. She starts going into the dreams of bugs (shes the goddess of light, moths, and dreams) and filling the dreams with her light. Most bugs wouldn't be able to resist, and they would accept the light or be forced to accept it, and become plagued with the infection that lets the Radiance control them. The Pale King looks at this and is like, 'nO cOsT tOo GrEaT' and then takes the thousands of eggs he had with the white lady and chucks them into a void infected abyss. He hoped that this would make them hollow and one would be able to escape and contain the radiance within their mind. As the Pale King said, no cost too great, no mind to think, no will to break, no voice to cry suffering, born of god and void, you shall seal the blinding light that plagues their dreams... you are the vessel... you are the hollow knight After some time, the first vessel escapes. The pure vessel- for the time being. The Pale King takes them to his white palace and trains them. It's important to note that several other vessels escaped after and left Hallownest. Anyways the Pale King also gets 3 dreamers, Lunerian, Monomon and Herrah, to go into a slumber that would create a seal on the black egg temple that would last until they d!ed. Eventually the pure vessel is deemed ready and chained up in the temple and the radiance trapped inside their mind. For some time, the plan works. The infection disappears and everythings fine for years- but unknown to the Pale King, the pure vessel had developed a relationship with the Pale King and was no longer completely hollow. The Radiance, after some time, discovers this flaw and uses it to infect the Hollow Knight, and the infection starts up again. The Pale King leaves and lives the last of his days in a white palace constructed in the mind of one of his other void creations, and the queen had bound herself deep within her gardens. ANYWAYS im not spoiling the game heheeehheh you know its weird how i actually use grammar when i talk abt lore and stuff
