to some, immortality is a gift. a blessing, even if in disguise. but to me... it is a curse. a ruining. a devastating ending. how could one live forever, and be happy? how could one have life in their hands, and smile? to have life in your very palms, some think, is the greatest power one could possess. but really, it is a poison. it trickles in, finding its way into every crevice, every empty space in your mind. it rots everything it touches. including your heart. how could one love, if immortal? living everyday knowing they have no end, but watching the seconds drip, drip, drip, from their lovers hands? how could they live every day, knowing that their other half is gone? that they will carry this forever, until the sun fades to gray, and the moon finally fades away. do they know the hurt will not go away? that they will live with this pain, everyday? there is nothing to gain. nothing but pain. truly, it is a curse - to be immortal.
