song: caged - within temptation animation: @_feverfew art: @_feverfew character designs: @_feverfew characters: the erin hunter writing team notes and my area for my endless yapping (oh god this will be long when this pmv is done) yes, i drew tigerstar II like that. he's meant to look unnerving. did you notice, when the red X goes over splashtail's rambling that there's an image of tigerstar II, owlnose and splashtail? i purposely put the four-pointed stars over owl and tiger II and the five-pointed star over splash to emphasise splash's worth compared to theirs, and how they'll always second best or even less in tiger's case. also frostpaw, when she finally kills splash you can see that splash, when he puts the curled feather down at the moonpool, turns and walks away in a certain way, and when frost finds out that he tried to kill her you can see frost up close to the screen as just her fur. and SO i made frost walk away from splash the same way as he did. the colour palette also kind of makes a cool balance between the violent topic and the, well, the colour palette. i also made the dogs in the curlfeather death scene just appear as a smudge of black, partially because symbolism (meant to be an implication of the dark forest) and also just partially because i don't know how to draw dogs HAHA. also when splash suggests that frost goes to speak to kestrelflight, i made it so that frost looked like a rabbit (to showcase 2 things: the fact that splash sees frost as prey, because of the scene where frost gets attacked by splash on the moor, and because rabbits are the moor's most common prey and, well, because frost is going to windclan.) also kestrel has leaves for eyes. i made him look like that emphasize splash's disdain for medicine cats and therefore their connection with starclan and THEREEEEFOREEE starclan itself. but also because i wanted splash to picture kestrel as only caring about medicine, (only SEEING herbs) and that being another "reason" of his disdain for kestrel. this ALSO implies that kestrel has ignorance for his starclan connection, which splash outright scorns. (splash's refusal to get his nine lives). i also made sure not to give splash a star on his forehead to imply that he never got his nine lives or name. tiger II is an interesting one in my opinion. i made it so that he looked solemn and like he actually believed he should lead, but have it twisted with images of his cats outnumbering & attacking riverclan. i also gave him a design that i consider so simple that it becomes creepy. splash's eyes being shown above podlight when he says that splash received his nine lives & name from starclan are meant to imply that he's always watching to see if pod makes a mistake. finally, frost glancing to the side like splash did when he put the curled feather down at the end is also purposeful
