Necti Classification Necti Empire Designation: G-04 Common Name: Gravewing Ship Type: Reanimation Corvette Nickname: "The Second Death" Basic Stats of the G-04: Type: Gravewing-Class Class: Reanimation Corvette Role: Patrol, interception, boarding, escort Length: 48 meters Crew: 2–6 Necti Maximum Capacity: 30 Necti Hull Integrity: 420 Armor: Heavy Shielding: Moderate Speed: Very High Maneuverability: High Atmospheric Flight: Yes FTL: Yes AI: None operated through necromantic command Main Power: Necrotic Core Main Systems: Necrotic Core: The heart of the ship. Instead of burning fuel normally, it consumes tiny amounts of necromantic energy generated from the boundary between life and death. The core can continue functioning even when parts of the ship have been destroyed. Grave Engines: Two enormous engines mounted along the bottom of the ship. They provide the Gravewing with extremely powerful acceleration. If one is destroyed, the ship can still fly using the other. Death-Sight: The pilot doesn't use ordinary cameras. The ship senses: Living organisms Dead organisms Artificial life Necromantic energy Damaged machinery Recently deceased beings This makes hiding from a Gravewing extremely difficult. Reanimation Vault: A small chamber inside the ship containing preserved Necti bodies. If a crew member dies, the ship can attempt to reanimate their body. However, just like the Necti themselves, the resurrected individual isn't necessarily the same person. Necromantic Abilities: Dead Again: If the ship suffers catastrophic damage but its Necrotic Core survives, the Gravewing can slowly rebuild damaged sections using dead biological matter and recycled ship material. It essentially heals like a corpse. Soul Echo: The ship can temporarily record the final thoughts of a deceased crew member. This doesn't truly restore them. Instead, it creates an imperfect echo of their personality that can operate the ship for a short period. Necti scholars argue endlessly about whether these echoes are actually conscious. Gravewake: The ship releases a wave of necromantic energy that interferes with nearby living systems. Biological organisms become sluggish and disoriented, while damaged machines may temporarily malfunction. Death Jump: The Gravewing's FTL system briefly converts the ship into a partially immaterial state. For a few seconds, it is neither completely in normal space nor completely outside it. This is how Necti ships can perform unusually sharp FTL maneuvers. Armament: The Gravewing carries several necromantic energy systems rather than conventional weapons. Soul Lances: Green energy emitters mounted toward the front. They fire concentrated necromantic energy capable of damaging both physical structures and energy systems. Grave Pulse: A short-range burst from the ship's entire hull. It is primarily used against nearby hostile craft. Death Ray: The central forward emitter can concentrate the ship's necrotic energy into one powerful beam. The ship must slow down considerably while charging it.
