Deer: Silver snow falls cold and crisp Upon the frozen ground. Like a frosty blanket, That doesn't make a sound. But in the clearing of a wood, Not too far from here, Crack! A twig had snapped, All heads dart up in fear. Side to side their eyes now flick. They do not know it’s but a stick. When moments pass and nothing stirs The deer turn away from the firs. They resume their grazing, Just for now, Until the next startling sound.
