Dear Chan, Happy birthday to the person who has spent so much of his life making sure everyone else feels loved, heard, and safe. Sometimes I wonder if you realize just how much you mean to people. You’ve given so much of yourself to Stray Kids and to STAYs — your time, your energy, your words, your patience, and so much of your heart. You’re always thinking about everyone else, always checking in, always trying to make people smile. And I hope, on your birthday, you can let yourself be the one who is cared for. You’re an incredible leader, but I hope you know that your worth has never depended on how much you can carry. You don’t have to be strong every second. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to keep giving until there’s nothing left for you. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to have quiet days. You’re allowed to put yourself first sometimes. I think one of the most beautiful things about you is the way you make people feel like they belong. You have this warmth that reaches people even through a screen. So many people look up to you not just because you’re talented, but because of the kindness and care you constantly show. You’ve become someone people can find comfort in, and I hope you have people around you who give that same comfort back to you. You’ve worked so hard for so long, and I hope you never forget that you deserve happiness that has nothing to do with how useful you are to anyone else. Please take care of yourself, Chan. Sleep when you’re tired. Breathe when everything feels overwhelming. Take breaks without feeling guilty. Eat well, laugh loudly, spend time doing things that make *you* happy. You deserve to experience life without always feeling like you have to be responsible for everyone else. And if there are ever moments when you wonder whether all your effort mattered, I hope you remember the countless people whose days became a little brighter because of you. The person who smiled because of something you said. The person who found courage in your words. The person who felt less alone because Stray Kids existed. The person who kept going because your music gave them somewhere to put their feelings. You may be one person, but the kindness you’ve given has traveled so much farther than you could ever know. Thank you for being Chan. Thank you for being Bang Chan. Thank you for being the leader who helped build something so many people call home. And most importantly, thank you for being a human being who deserves the same patience, kindness, and love that you so freely give to everyone else. I hope this next year of your life is gentle with you. I hope you have more moments where you can laugh until your stomach hurts, more mornings where you wake up feeling rested, more nights where you can put everything down and simply exist. I hope you get to look around and realize that you don’t have to carry everything anymore — because there are people who will always be cheering for you, too. You have spent so much time reminding everyone else that they’re doing well. So, Chan, let someone remind you: You’re doing well, too. You’ve done enough. You are enough. You are loved far beyond what you could ever measure. Happy birthday, Chan. Please stay healthy. Please stay happy. Please remember to rest. And please remember that you don’t always have to be the one holding everyone together. Sometimes, it’s okay to let yourself be held by the love you’ve helped create. We’re so proud of you. We’re so grateful for you. And we hope this year gives back to you even a tiny fraction of everything you’ve given to the world. Happy birthday, Chris. From a literal nobody, just a STAY
Chan happy birthday we love you so much!
