Jump Crazy Frogs ** with High Scores Leaderboard ** Click a Frog to make it Jump. ( if any frog touches any other frog it jumps too, often setting off a chain reaction ) Bottom left corner counts the # jumps in the chain. See how big a chain of jumps you can get! ** WARNING ** If you think you might get a longer chain of jumps by clicking multiple frogs one after the other, YOU CAN'T, because whenever you do the # Jumps counter resets! ** HIGH SCORES LEADERBOARD ** Click the Championship Cup to see the Leaderboard and Hover over it to see the minimum score required to get on the Leaderboard. The Cup appears on a Flag Click or after a Leaderboard-worthy score is achieved. Any chain of jumps of 200 or more will get you on the Leaderboard initially. Once you're on the Leaderboard you have to get a higher score than whatever score is recorded in the Leaderboard for you, to move up the Leaderboard. When and if the Leaderboard gets full, you will need to get a higher score than the lowest score on the Leaderboard. The Leaderboard code uses 4 digits to record your score in the Cloud, so in the unlikely event that somebody happened to get a 5 digit score, they will be given a score of 9999! I see a number of Leaderboard-worthy scores reported in the comments where that player's score is not actually recorded in the Cloud Data ... there a few main reasons this might happen: 1) You need to be a Scratcher (not a New Scratcher) to to be able to update Cloud Data where the Leaderboard data is stored. 2) You did a "See Inside" to check out the code at some time during your session. This will also prevent the Cloud Data from being updated. 3) Cloud Variables may me down at the time. 4) Too many people are playing the game at the same time and occasionally when 2 players are trying to update the Cloud Data in less than a second apart, one of them may overwrite the other's result. By the way there is very little skill required to get a score > 200, as it's pretty much all down to luck. If you are consistently getting Leaderboard-worthy scores it probably means you have been wasting too much time playing this game and you should probably STOP!
Extracted the Frogs code from @residentgrasso's great original project Chain Reaction Fun - check it out! Then I simplified it so my Coding Students can make it. Special thanks to @residentgrasso for his incredible Frog costumes which are really what make the whole thing work, and his Frog croaking sounds are great too! The main changes I made to the code were simplification (because I don't need to look after 6 different chain reactions) and other changes to provide support for counting the number of Jumps in a single chain reaction, mainly using "when this Sprite clicked" rather than "if <touching mouse-pointer> ..." to set off the first jump in a possible chain reaction. And of course the Leaderboard code was a last minute addition, and certainly not part what I would be teaching my Coding students, as Cloud Variables and their use and maintenance are way too complicated! I mainly wanted to add the Leaderboard to test whether or not I actually could, given that I seem to have worked out how to overcome that Shadow-Ban I was getting on a regular basis, preventing me from updating Cloud Variables ... so far so good ... YAY!
