You’re not transphobic, you’re just a jerk. You’re not scared of us, you’re just a jerk. Do you know what it’s like to be called disgusting? Gross? Just confused? Too naive? A danger to society? Weird? Strange? Odd? Repulsive? Despised? Hated? Disliked? Need to be hidden away? Need to be erased from humanity? Just because of our gender? Do you understand the feeling of losing close friends you loved to transphobia? The family who was supposed to love you and care for you suddenly grow cold? The feeling of getting yelled at, scoffed at, treated less and unfairly, glared at, disowned, treated toxically, kicked out even, just because who I was born isn’t truly me? Has your community ever had terrible things been done to them just for telling the truth? Historically oppressed? Unaccepted? Unsupported? “I can’t support because of my religion!” No religion says to hate. Because trans people are people too, they deserve to live too, they deserve to live in peace without the fear and having to hide and keep quiet and keep perfect, they deserve to not be forcefully boxed into tight stereotypes that don’t match who they are. So you’re not transphobic. You’re just a jerk.
