So, Gorroth, the god of calamities in the Azarkhan universe, the mentor of Eidolon himself, is actually one of my oldest characters that I still use on this site, and yes, he's much older than all the other gods of his verse by creation date. He wasn't always the Great Old God of malice and hatred, though. So, in around mid-2023, a few days before that school year ended, we had this homework in English class where we'd make a pop-up book with a few pages. Being that type of guy, I took it way too seriously and lowkey cooked with the story I made, which I'll summarize (from what I remember, the book itself is completely lost). So the story (named the Chronicles of Time) takes place in the then unnamed Azarkhan. There are the Time Masters, 4 demigods that control time, creations of Hyperion. Zher Vayung, day, a bright warrior with a whip, Vor Quing, afternoon, calmer and covered in moss, Tai Kun, evening, a fiery figure with a blade, and Shod Rothart, night, a shadowy guy with a dark aura. One day, Shod Rothart, after realizing that people keep ignoring nighttime by sleeping, hatches a plan to engulf the world in eternal night. He then discovers the imprisoned Paraformorians, a race of gargantuan fleshy giants, and their leader, Gorroth himself. Gorroth tempts Rothart to free him, saying that he would aid him on his conquest of bringing eternal night. Rothart frees him and his army, and Gorroth keeps his promise by allying with Rothart. Using the power of four gargantuan towers in the world's four corners, Rothart succeeded in his goal. On the summit of each tower was an orb that kept night, and a golem guarding it. The towers themselves were filled to the brim with traps, parkour, and soliders of Rothart. Gorroth and the Paraformorians built an even larger structure, a mixture of an arena and a castle for them to reside in. Then the world was plunged into darkness, as the generals of Gorroth, a lumpy and huge Paraformorian named Ghatroth, a taller one named... well... I forgot, but it was something starting with N. Maybe something like Nezareth? Not sure. There were also two more, one very similar to the one with N as his initial, and I don't remember anything of the others. Eidolon isn't mentioned here, for he wasn't conceived by me at the time. The only reason I remember any of this is because of two certain drawings (one of them is lost, I last saw it at the start of summer), one of them was the Time Masters and the other one had the Paraformorians.
Anyways, back to the plot, after Rothart and Gorroth do what they did, a wizard whom I forgot the name of enlists an (I think) 12 year old boy named Sam to accompany him on a journey to defeat Rothart's reign. They don't know about Gorroth's influence on Rothart, by the way. Nobody did. Sam and the wizard journey through many lands, stop the towers, meet new allies (like a sentient cactus, I remember that very well), and then they eventually find Rothart's castle-arena. The only region I properly remember is a desert, where the cactus guy is, and he had a whole town of sorts. I also remember the tower in the desert, it was clockwork based and it had lots of platforming. Now, they finally find the fortress, and enter it to confront Rothart. Rothart and Sam's fellowship fight eachother, and I clearly remember that Rothart had teleportation abilities, because he's the Night Master after all. After Rothart is defeated, he retreats and watches as the four Paraformorian generals fight them in order, with Ghatroth as the first and N-guy as the last. How the heck are they still even alive? After the generals are defeated, Gorroth finally shows himself and the true final battle ensues. Gorroth had lots of magic powers and he's enormous, so he tries to stomp on all of the heroes at once. Anyways he's eventually defeated and the end. That's... actually a pretty peak story if I'm being honest. If I somehow remember everything else, I might rework it into an actual book or heck, maybe even a series. And so you now know where Gorroth even originated from, see ya later ig. Also yes he got a redesign like Eidolon did (you can see it inside of the project). As of lately I've been focusing quite a bit on the Azarkhan universe.
