The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia hereby extends an official offer to the Republic of Slovenia to initiate a process of full unification. Given the success of the Second Yugoslavia, alongside our military alliance and deeply integrated partnership within the Balkans Customs Union (BCU), unification is the most logical, prosperous, and secure step forward for our peoples. We present this proposal based on the following considerations: - Operating under two separate sovereign commands risks communication friction and critical delays during a crisis. Full unification integrates our defense into a single, seamless command structure. This guarantees maximum efficiency without subjecting Slovenia to a hyper-centralized government. - Although the BCU has brought immense wealth to both our nations, cross-border trade still demands tedious regulatory oversight and bureaucratic paperwork. By merging into a single economy, we can completely eliminate these frictions, slash administrative costs, and maximize profits. - Metrics indicate approximately 45% of the Slovenian population expressing Yugonostalgic sentiments. While not yet an absolute majority, this represents a massive, deeply rooted foundation of popular support. This new, reformed Yugoslavia offers a historic opportunity to address their desires and revive the cultural benefits of our shared past while strictly correcting the systemic flaws of the old regime. - Following the collapse of the United States, China, Russia, India, and Canada, the global security order has shattered. With the vacuum left by the former world powers, extremist movements are rising worldwide. In this dangerous new era, a fragmented Balkans is a vulnerable Balkans. A unified, formidable state stands the best possible chance of defending our regional stability, our national interests, and our peoples. - Unification will not mean the erasure of Slovenian identity or self-determination. The Republic of Slovenia will retain robust domestic autonomy, functioning as an equal federal republic with the same rights, distinct cultural protections, and governance powers as the existing Yugoslav republics. We believe that our future is stronger together. Yugoslavia is fully prepared to either accept a formal diplomatic agreement from the Slovenian government or co-sponsor a nationwide referendum to let the Slovenian people decide their destiny directly.
(read all of this its important to the rp) if referendum is held, the amount needed to join is 55% (similar to montenegro referendum in 2006 to leave serbia) if fails, those who voted yes are eligible to get a yugoslav passport & citizenship for dual citizenship should i stop writing formal-ish and just go straight to the point :p potential threats to slovenia which is what i mean by extremist movements (as those are far ends of the ideological scale): fascist italy, fascist germany & austria that is part of germany but monarchist??? anyways even if not threats rn who knows for the future + fascists in slovenia = bad memories ig of utase and certain german occupation alongside austria suppressing slavic culture in austrian empire stuff
