Hey guys! This is something different than what I'd usually do, but I just had to talk about it since this is getting out of control. Also if you don't like rant's, I'd advise you leave the project :) Recolours. We've all heard of them. Colouring in someone else's artwork. I've seen tons of recolours of animation meme's/art/animation that it's getting ridiculous. It's more common on scratch due to the lousy rules of remixing. The scratch rules state 'When a Scratcher makes a copy of someone else’s project and modifies it to add their own ideas (for example, by changing scripts or costumes), the resulting project is called a "remix." ' I'm not saying you shouldn't remix, I'm saying when recolouring, you are not adding your own idea's, you are stealing/copying someone else's artwork/idea they worked hard on, which shows you have zero respect for the artist. Besides, when you recolour, you limit your own creativity, and other scratchers love seeing YOUR ideas. Besides, practicing art/animation/code really pays off in the end. Wouldn't you rather others praising you for YOUR originality, instead being told off/reported by other scratchers for your recolour of SOMEONE ELSE'S project? The scratch community is here to support you, and we can help you learn and grow as an artist/programmer/animator, but not if you are going to leech off someones work. In the end, it's best to use your own ideas, instead of someone else's. Once again, If you ever need any help, the scratch community is here for you :)
