Once you complete 3 laps around the track, you’ll receive a unique code that you can share with everyone! Keep in mind that you cannot save your ghost data if it takes you more than 6 minutes to finish the race. Watch Ghost (requires code): Watch a ghost race around the track without having to race yourself. Perfect for studying its route and its driving technique before you do the real thing! Versus Ghost (requires code): Race against a ghost on the track! Enter a ghost code to load someone's (or your) run and see if you can beat their time.
(once again, a proper thumb may come later) ℹ NOTE: Basic knowledge of copying and pasting is needed to fully enjoy this project. A breakaway from the BarryRaceEngine, to help build on something that shall eventually become a part of it. Ghosts created in the original project should remain compatible with this remix, and vice-versa, so do continue to share any you create here in the forum: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/906864/ My primary addition: the ability to PAUSE the project without disrupting the timer and ghost replays, with "Watch Ghost" additionally allowing for adjustable playback in a similar manner to Mario Kart TV. Other adjustments of incrementally decreasing importance include: - Switching the timer code to the "days since 2000" method utilised in the AidanWare Engine by @thinkingwithshifting - Always saving directions as positive values to shorten ghost codes. - An icon appearing to notify when a ghost cannot be saved. - Replay music being looped for a smoother replay experience. - Z/X as alternate keys for gas and brake. - Timer remaining visible upon completion. (though this does show using speed changes can render it inaccurate, especially with slow-mo - yet another new method for time tracking may thus be required) Credits to @BarryFans for the original project + Nintendo & Pixabay for SFX and BGM.
