Credit to @krispus for the original GP40-2 and credit to @Bold_Brick1212 for logo. This is an EMD GP40-2 rebuilt by ELI for passenger service as a GP40PH-3C. This train has been upgraded to the EMD Dash 3 system for smarter wheel slip protection and the reduction of wires and relays. This train also has a separate Cummins QSK-19 generator for HEP. The back part of th train was extended by a few feet to accommodate for the generator. The prime mover is this same. The paint scheme these trains will come with is the Zip transit Phase 2 paint scheme. The Phase 1 paint will not be replaced, but newly purchased locomotives including this one will come with the paint scheme by default. This train will be used as a backup fleet and will be placed on revenue service for the Grandail Sub Service.
