guys please like this i spent my whole break writing this ( actually adjusting it, before it was 522 words now its 1082ish words?) Broken Trust 28/9/26 Monday: “Ruby, may I have your pencil case?” That was me “Yeah, sure—just keep it safe,” replied Ruby. “I may need it for one day.” I said. Me and Ruby have been friends since kindergarten. We share secrets, we laugh together, and we help each other during exams. “Why? Don’t you have your own pencil case?” Ruby asked. This was unfamiliar. Ruby never asked me whenever I borrowed her stuff in the past. “Yesterday I lost my pencil case on the train” I replied. “I told you a billion times that I lost it and a million times that I will need your spare pencil case to borrow for the whole day!” This was true, because I never lied to Ruby. Ruby is also a stationery collector, so she brings a spare pencil case to school every day. “Ok, I guess I trust you” Ruby said. After I arrived home, I put Ruby’s pencil case in my desk drawer. My mom came in a few moments later and said: “Hi Hazel! Look! I got you new stationery to replace the ones lost on the train!” “Uhm ok Mom…” I replied. 29/9/26 Tuesday: Today I woke up late. And when I mean late, I mean, MISSING THE ASSEMBLY LATE! I did not even have time to eat my BREAKFAST. Luckily my mom gave me money to eat from the school cafeteria, and I had a muffin, a juice box, and a small sandwich. After the lunch break, I had my English lesson with Ruby. I had to return the pencil box today, but when I looked inside my bag, I suddenly realized it was missing. “Hey Hazel! How are you? Did you bring my pencil case back?” She asked. “Uhm, Ruby I’m so sorry but I forgot it at home.” I replied. “It's safe in my bedroom drawer though.” “Alright, just bring it tomorrow” Ruby replied. So, when I reached home, I went straight to my bedroom and I checked the drawer. Thankfully the pencil case was alright. But as soon as I opened it, I was shocked to see nothing except an old pencil I gave Ruby in 3rd grade. I immediately went to my mom and asked where the stationery was from Ruby's pencil case. She said she did not know, and then I saw my baby brother playing with them. Oh, how they looked, teeth marks on the pencils, saliva covering the pens and the erasers broken into bits. I obviously had to replace them, so I pleaded and begged my mother to buy them today, since I only had 2 dollars in my wallet. The price was, that I had to vacuum the house for the whole week and do the laundry, but I didn't care because I did not want Ruby to stop trusting me. Luckily, everything that was lost and/or destroyed was found at our nearest stationery shop. go to credits
30/9/26 Wednesday: Today I woke up early and I arrived early at school as well. I returned Ruby’s pencil case in our science class. “What happened to my stuff? Why are they looking way too brand new?” asked Ruby. “I don’t know” I replied. This was the first time I lied to Ruby. I felt guilty, way too guilty. “You know. You never lie to me. I can tell by your face you're lying” “Alright, Alright.” I said and told her what had happend yesterday. Ruby’s face was getting red with rage. “HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME! YOU KNOW THAT THAT PENCIL CASE WAS MY FAVOURITE” Ruby shouted so loudly that everyone in our class stared at us. “Calm down Ruby! I’m sorry! You should be blaming my little brother!” I replied. "So, what you're saying is that it's your little brother's fault? Are you thinking i am dumb and stupid and would believe that? Come on Hazel, you're too scared to admit it was your fault?" Ruby had revealed her true side. "Girls if you want to talk like that go outside! If you will shout like that again, Ruby, you will have a free ride to the principal's office!" said Miss Alice. So, after we went outside, I said that it was my little brother's fault because he took the pencil case, and that she does not know how much trouble I went into replacing them, but I guess it was partially my fault because I forgot my brother opens the lower drawer whenever I'm not home. “It's alright.” Ruby said as she calmed down a tiny bit. We went back into the class and sat down, but I could see that Ruby was siting further than she usually does, right up close. 1/10/26 Thursday: Today I woke up the usual time, got ready, had breakfast and went to school. Ruby does not talk to me anymore, not even a hi. She even changed her seats in all our classes we have together. Now I have to sit next to this girl called Emily, but I wish I was sitting next to another girl. Emily always cheats and she gets away with it, mostly since she is the daughter of the principal, none of the teachers suspect her cause they do not want to lose their jobs. At lunch Ruby was sitting with her other friend, Olivia, and she did not leave any space for me, so I tried to talk to her, but she just ignored me. I thought she calmed down and totally forgave me, but she was still mad. Well two can play that game. So, when she came to me to ask if I could give her my notebook, I ignored her as much as I could. When I got home, I deleted her contact from my phone. Why? Because this morning I sent her a message, she did not reply, which was not very much of her cause she usually replies instantly, but then while I was walking, Ruby rushed Infront of me, and I caught a glimpse of her phone, and there I saw it, my contact deleted. Then later after doing that, my mom came in and asked why I am not going to hang out with Ruby. I made up an excuse that we were not really feeling like to hang out, even though we have hanged out every Thursday ever since we were young. After she left, I jumped on my bed and stuffed my head in my pillow. It looks like my mom is calling me for dinner, got to go.
