Me and a couple of therian friends went to BOUNCE recently and yes, it was fun, but I think this was the most interesting part. (srry abt the rant like formula btw) WARNING: This is NOT telling you how to act with Anti-furs!! The best thing to do when encountering an Anti-fur is to DIFUSE. TURN AND WALK AWAY. If you cannot, try to get help from an adult. Remember, if someone assaults you (hitting, kicking, pushing, spitting, etc.), that can be considered a criminal offence (not always, but in severe cases). We did this because these were CHILDREN. They couldn't hurt us even if they tried, and we were sure they wouldn't (very 'preppy girl' vibes, who aren't known for starting physical fights). STILL NOT THE BEST THING TO DO- but my friends weren't dropping it, plus it wasn't hurting anyone. Pics in the background are not mine, just pictures of out theriotypes (for anyone curious). Front cover is from D4V3Y_AUBERGINE on YouTube. Song is APT by Bruno Mars and Rose, DON'T JUDGE it was playing in BOUNCE and now it's stuck in my head
So we were doing quads and I climbed onto this ledge that you can reach by clambering up a steep trampoline slope, and there were a couple girls up there (10 years old BTW, they told us themselves). One asked me 'what the hell was my friend doing'. I said, 'Quadrobics!! It's a way for therians to express themselves.' And she looked at me with a disgusted look and said 'what's a therian?' (my friends started to come and join me around now) and I said, 'A therian is a person who spiritually identifies with an animal, he's a cat therian.' (I was referring to C (trans masc friend), who they asked me about.) They looked at me and the girl speaking was like 'He? That's a girl.' And C who had heard got a bit offended and said 'No, I identify as a male.' and the girls looked at each other and then back at us and then they said we were INSANE. And me, C and N (other friend, non-binary) looked at each other and we were confused for a second, and then we kind of started laughing in disbelief and were like 'What?!' BUT THEN they actually started trying to be mean (I say tried to because it was really hard to take them seriously because they were so young looking), and when N tried to explain better they started telling us that we were PHYCOPATHS, like, girl what?? And then C was half angry and half amused, and then they started arguing with the girls about identity, and then he got MAD because, yes, they might not understand or particularly WANT to understand, but they were telling my friend that he should 'go to a mental hospital.' Like come on. And THEN me and N were like 'OK WE NEED TO RETREAT' But C kept going, we managed to get him down though. Then we were doing more quads, and they started doing the 'crazy' thing where they twirl their fingers beside their heads. So we just kept going because we didn't care. Then we had an AMAZING idea >:D I bought some gear (my friends didn't because they didn't want to break it and I was already on my way there when they said they weren't on the gc) So, I went to get my gear (my rainbow cat mask, Crayon, and her matching tail) And I put it on and went back to the area. We kept doing quads and they looked HORRIFIED. We weren't bothering them, more proving a point, but after a while we just stopped caring about them and had fun because... quads! ON TRAMPOLINES!! Plus tail! Very fun, would recommend. We kind of moved on and went to eat after that, but when we came back they just avoided us at all cost, which was nice because earlier they were openly mocking us (calling us addicted to the internet, saying our brains were microscopic, saying we were acting like two year olds, etc.). Plus, when we were walking to get food, someone meowed at me (I was wearing my mask) And I just meowed back and shook myself a bit to make my tail wag :) [I do think he was mocking me though... I don't care tbh]
