space Okay, first of all, driverless cars are not an "impossible fantasy" because THEY ALREADY EXIST. Second of all, LIDAR technology is already used widely in Waymos and Zooxes, etc. I personally don't think it is that dangerous but I just want to wait a few more years so the technology can get more advanced. Then I would want to ride a Waymo. And lastly, autonomous vehicles (AVs) have not necessarily "replaced" human drivers, only giving them some "competition". They are only able to replace human drivers once humans trust AVs. Either this lesson is old before Waymos became widespread and Tesla Autopilot was still in testing, or the folks at iReady don't trust AVs themselves and they want us to think the same, which is highly unlikely.
