the child within me --------------------------------------------------------------------------- the child within me loved bubbles and friends she radiated like the beaming sun with a smile that didn't pretend wearing tiaras with no shame a princess, that child was she didn't hate what mirrors showed not the way her older self does the child within me was nothing but a jewel shining everywhere she went oblivious to how cruel... how cruel this world could really be but soon she would discover how blind you get when falling in love that child's heart would never recover the child within me had gotten lost she fell into the abyss a hide and seek that never ends that child i'll always miss yet i drowned out all her pleas and cries all she wanted was to be free but i could never show her face again for everyone to see years of being trapped inside me and wishing to just be seen the child within me has given up she's replaced by a traumatized teen i had to hide the child within me because she would never survive that poor little girl kept in the shadows... died when i came alive
