"x/x/xx..." PyritePaw stumbled out of a swamp, inspecting the air with a glance of suspicion, a spark of annoyance wrapping around him as he noticed the muck of muddy plants and other grime that had coated his tail as he dragged it out of the waters. He looked around, flicking an ear in thought. Huh. He didn't recognize this particular place... where was he? This certainly couldn't be any part of MossClan, he had been sure the moment he had become an apprentice he had bolted out and seen every part of MossClan he could, and he didn't remember this swamp... There was a thick mist- no, a fog- here. He didn't like it... he couldn't see anything around him. There was a low whistle seeming sound that seemed to infiltrate the air, and he didn't like it. He wasn't scared, but rather, confused. Where was he? Where was he? Where was he? Where was he? Where was he? ... .. . He was in a dream. Of course, of course, it all made sense! A flicker of awareness seemed to swirl in his soul, and he smiled, bounding blindly through the swamp. But, how and why was he in a swamp? He didn't recognize this place. He hadn't even seen a swamp before, only heard stories of them and hungry alligators... Pyrite hoped he didn't encounter any alligators here... oh wait, it was a dream! He could just make there be no alligators... what did those beasts look like, anyways? As he stumbled out further and further into the swampy dreamlands, he had this strange realization. He stopped in front of a rock, one that seemed to be a puddle... it reflected him and his appearance. He's never seen a reflective rock before. But this was all a dream, so it made sense! A rock with the properties of a puddle. He leaned forwards and looked at him through the rock, adjusting his flowers with a smile and wiping away all mud that was on his horns. and then that realization seemed to grow closer... ... something was behind him. He just knew. something was behind him and he had to run or fight. Pyrite wasn't scared. he turned around... ... and it was him. no. it was her. no, it was... it was both. ... how strange, to turn around and see yourself. But it was a dream, and dreams were often strange. Sometimes they meant nothing. Sometimes it was a moment of sleep given to reflect. Sometimes it was a prophecy. Sometimes it was a realization. He had been told that identity was like a river, ever moving, ever changing. Fitting on something you never realized could be you. This felt like he knew all along... .- -. -.. / ... .... . / .- .-- --- -.- . .-.-.-
