The odorous badger beest is a fearsome creature, a relic from when large creatures still roamed the land, they will go into villages at night and devour anything they can get their claws on. When threatened, it will unleash a bad smelling liquid like a skunk and run off into the night, by day, they are sluggish and sleep very often with many believing them to be turn to stone. By night they awaken to go on the prowl once more.
I decided to combine days 2, 6, and 8 of the @alien_projects version of inktober. Inspirations; Trolls are described as man-eaters and turn to stone in day light. European badgers, duh. Both honey Badgers and European badgers are mustellids. Skunks are closely related but not true mustellids, so that's why I gave the beast a skunk spray.
