Visions- a poem (and a song) ----------------------- Late one night while I sat awake in bed That's when everything started Hearing voices that don't belong in my head Tried to hold on, but my fingers parted And suddenly visions filled my head Like I was falling to the floor While the place was getting clearer Then I heard the voices, couldn't stand it anymore You starting to run from a girl, looking like you feared her I almost fell apart when I came nearer I was standing right in the middle of it all Then the world began to fall Shattering glass on the kitchen floor Footsteps pounding, running for the door Head is swimming, I can't take any more I scream, scream like a wolf howls at the moon If it's a dream I hope the end is coming soon Visions of you leaving swimming in my head Echoes of my screaming jolting me awake that led To my wince, my pain, the fear; that rained Upon my pale skin once again Like any smart person, I waited for the end For the shadows to finish taking me For the burning rain of fear to stop But I can't stand it, not for long I wish to complete this painful song Falling to the floor at the last note Drowning in the rain, no antidote I want to wake up But are these visions in my head A simple truth told to me instead? or will the fire burn over more To let me heal the hidden sore?; No... hearing it again Make it stop, make it stop I'm not making it to the end Shattering glass on the kitchen floor Footsteps pounding, running for the door Head is swimming, I can't take any more I scream, scream like a wolf howls at the moon If it's a dream I hope the end is coming soon Shatter Footsteps Screaming Dreaming Visions
