Well, that's a pretty interesting question. The other day I decided to investigate whether it is okay for Christians to listen to rock music. Because sometimes I was bothered by this question: can I listen rock? And after research I will tell you: It is possible <3 Scripture does not forbid music; it encourages songs, praise, and worship of the Lord. "Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth" (Psalm 96:1-2). The Apostle Paul also teaches: "Sing every song—whether of praise or a spiritual song—to the Lord in your heart." & Bible does not directly forbid listening to rock, as it is a form of entertainment and is also a creative ability that God has placed in people. Also for example, Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Savych Skovoroda believed that music is not just entertainment but also a part of the soul. So, let's take a closer look about music: There are many rock bands in the world, including Christian ones! Heavy and powerful music also carries faith in soul of thousands :33 And some of the songs that are your favorites often have Christian themes: for example, Come As You Are by Nirvana, this song is an anthem of outsiders whom people did not understand, this song contains a powerful God's commandment: to live in respect and love for one's neighbors. Master of Puppets by Metallica, this is a song about fighting against sin. And I can also recommend the band Deep Purple, Queen & Black Sabbath. The performers of band Black Sabbath are Christians, Catholics & English Christians :33 <3 Their song "Paranoid" is a powerful manifesto that encourages appreciation of life and has the lines "I need someone.." which is also a reference to God! Because in Christ, man rejoices in life. And they also have a straight Christian song "After forever" which supports Christians and those new in Christ and calls for sincere faith and glorifying God, glorifies God's grace in heaven and calls to serve God now while there is time. Or consider Ozzy Osbourne's song "Crazy Train," which urges us to wake up in time and avoid causing harm ✝️✨ But about music I have a also warning: avoid swearing, sinful, and forbidden topics in your playlist! Your Spirit must choose only what is true and bright.
