Up and down arrow keys! Prologue: "Surrender, MudClan!" a blue-gray she-cat yowled, her fur glistening in the moonlight as she stood atop a rocky ledge. "You're weak! My cats are stronger, tougher!" She watched hungrily as two clans battled below her. "Waterstar..." a cat breathed behind her. She turned on her paws, now facing a tabby tom. "Hawkstar, what a surprise," she scoffed. The wounded tom stepped forward, wincing as his cut paw touched the stone. "Waterstar, leave my clan alone. MudClan has done nothing wrong," he growled. "Is attacking another clan a step in your quest for power?" "No," she meowed. "But destroying MudClan is." "You'll never get rid of MudClan!" he hissed, his fur rising along his spine. Waterstar raised her tail, and two warriors padded to the ledge from there hiding place. Hawkstar whipped around, now surrounded. "It's a trap!" Hawkstar muttered to himself "Surrender!" Hawkstar was speechless, but shook his head. "Then we'll take away each of your lives," Waterstar hissed, stepping forward. "Then who's gonna lead MudClan away from the forest?" He turned and faced Waterstar again, shaking. "What would StarClan say?" Waterstar didn't flinch. "StarClan has left the forest a long time ago, Hawkstar," she meowed. "If they were here then they wouldn't have let MudClan fall." "No..." Hawkstar was lost for words. "Choose, Hawkstar," Waterstar meowed. "Either you and your clan die, or you and your clan may leave." Hawkstar looked around, gazing at the cats battling below them. "We'll be back," he meowed softly before padding to the edge of the overhang. "MudClan! Retreat!" he yowled. The tabby tom jumped off the stone and his clan disappeared into the shadow of the night.
