So a few years ago. I had a best friend called N. We were inseparable. We were like sisters. Until we got into new schools and we were in completely different worlds. I thought that was over. Until she came to my school. I was overjoyed and I was so happy. N was too. I introduced her to my friends I made. One of my friends then introduced her to her friends. That must have been what I thought was the biggest mistake of my life. Skip forward to after Christmas and when we came back from the school holidays she hated me. I broke inside. Our friendship was meaningless all of a sudden. It was like we were strangers. I cried for days to my Mum telling her what happened. I wanted her to believe me that I still wanted to be friends but turns out she was darker than I thought. She gave me a post it note that said backstabber on it. My friend ripped it up and threw it away. I reported her to my school several times and she has gotten detentions. On Valentine’s Day our school were giving out roses and a white one meant friendship. She had gotten a black whiteboard marker and made it black. Black meant she hated me and symbolised death. My friend washed that rose off to cleanse it. Then something in me snapped. I stopped wanting to be her friend. I didn’t give up. I chose to stop. If she wanted everything gone. Let her have it gone. I have a great group of friends who are willing to help me. I met a different girl the year after that and she is now my new best friend, A. A was different to N. A was incredibly sweet and kind she always made me laugh and helped me out. A, taught me that friendship isn’t something that can be created in minutes. It takes time to understand the value. My friend M, she taught me that N isn’t good enough for my standards. My friend MS, helped me in my saddest times when I was struggling with personal stuff. My friend, AK made me laugh and told me that I am worth it. My friend LH, taught me that sometimes I have to be stubborn on things and not let go. My Mum always told me that one day I will understand all her lessons that she teaches me. I understand something but sometimes I don’t and that’s okay. I just want to thank my friends and you guys for making me smile and laugh
