I wanted to cry. I wanted to scream. flowers were laid around me, all wilted and dead. they shouldn't have died. it wasn't their time; they still had so much ahead of them sunflowers and bluebells roses and blackberries Widowwatcher, where are you? Sundownpaw, why did you leave me? MossClan, what were you doing, to let such a tragedy happen? UrchinClan, how could you have let innocent lives perish to your ignorance? "blame the wolves, blame leaf-bare, blame the leader" but what about "blame StarClan, who were supposed to protect us?" I'm sorry, I'm sorry to everyone who fell victim to the false safety that we were promised - Widowwatcher, your fearlessness even in the face of wolves and your patience inspired many, including me. the stories you told when I was kit, will always have an impact on me you were a great warrior, and deserved a better fate. but to you, this was the most honorable deed one could do, wasn't it? - Sundownpaw, no longer will we spend afternoons together, training hard, sparring endlessly in hopes of helping the clan our future of being the "flower experts", the chance to see the glow-in-the-dark roses, they will never happen. in your last moments, you worked hard hoping for a reward but none came. - and to so many more, you all deserved better. you shouldn't have died like this. the clans should have done better. MossClan should have done better. we should have been stronger. StarClan, where are you in the midst of all this? where were you, as your descendants were dying? do you mistake us for toys that you can just play with? that you can just laugh at? do you find our suffering enjoyable? you portray yourselves as heroes, and yet fail to help us. and yet, isn't death and suffering just part of the clan life? all those cats willingly fought, they knew the risks. but why is it so hard to accept their fate? some flowers last long, wilting after a lengthy life, feeling fulfilled at the end but you, Sundownpaw, Widowwatcher, and many more, you were the flowres who lived a short life your lives were beautiful, short, but left an impact on everyone I think that you would have chosen this noble path over and over again It's just a shame that you are the flowers that faded too quickly.
