When I was eight, I saw a wolf with wings, She came to me, bowed with greetings. I blinked once to clear my eyes, And once I opened them, she was gone with a guise. When I was nine, I saw a face in the trees, A girl my age, around her, a pleasant breeze. She told me to continue to be me, To never let anyone stop me from being free. I looked around to see if someone else saw, When I looked back there was just bark, no flaw. When I was ten, I saw a boy in the clouds, Playing with his sister, laughing aloud. They looked down at me and waved. I looked around to see if anyone had seen. I looked back, and this time, I willed them to stay, There they were, still pausing their game. I smiled and waved back, I could feel their smiles, sense I didn't lack. That's when I learned what was happening to me, I wasn't going crazy, not really. I was just a kid with a wild imagination as my tool, With that I had made what I wanted without rules. These were mine, Beyond other's sight. My illusions, Oh, my illusions. That's what people called them, Using that word with such condemn. But that's not how I saw them, I did not disapprove of them. These illusions, Are not delusions. They're my companions, Always were, always will be. Through highest of mountains, The deepest of canyons. They stuck with me, Showed their loyalty. All while nobody else, Deemed themselves as worthy. My illusions, My greatest companions. My friends through the highs and the lows, They eye in the heart of the storm. Taught me more than I ever could, Taught me more than someone ever could. My illusions, Not my delusions. They have proven, That they're meant to be with me. They say that a child can only dream, But when you grow up, you must let go of these. When you come of age, everybody, They will of these 'intrusions' be 'free'. Guess that won't happen for me, Oops. Must have been the wind, Whoops. 'She can still see these delusions?' I know they'll say, So, I'll keep my thoughts with me safe. For that's what they did for me, And will always help me remain free.
'We all need that someone who gets you like no one, Else right when you need it the most, 'We all need a soul to rely on, A shoulder to cry on, A friend through the highs and the lows, I'm not gonna make it alone.' - Alone Part 2 by Alan Walker My illusions will never stop loving me. At least that's what they say. And I believe them. I won't stop loving them either. They're a part of me. A part that will never leave. One that will always be free. - AJ
