SPACE / CLICK >--------------------The Green Caterpillar.-------------------< In 1897 the Caledonian Railway built two 0 - 4 - 0 ST engines were built, the two engines were loaned out to a few industrial industries until being bought by the W&S in 1902. N.1 was named Percival, after the manager's father. And N.2 was named Brendam after one of the main Terminus'. Overtime 3 other engines joined the railway, and they were all very happy. Until... In 1915 the NWR was formed. many engines were loaned to the NWR, and managed the work fine. The S&M were the first to go, N.1 and 3 were scrapped, and N.2 was sold to the Crovans gate Mining company. In 1917 the W&S was shut down after a uhh. EHM, very VERY bad accident. Percival and Brendam were sold to a workshop on the outskirts of Barrow. In 1927 Sir Charles Thopham Hatt bought Percival as a new station pilot. Percival begged Brendam to come but, she wouldn't budge. "Percival, I cant." "Wha- Why not!" "That railway took our home. I will never trust it." Percival ( now going by as Percy) Doesn't tell anybody about his past life. Only the Golden Oldies will know. Percy WAS fitted with a bell and sideplates in 1957 for the tramway to the FQC.
