Hey guys, welcome to the project! If you've been scrolling through TikTok or YouTube shorts lately, you’ve probably seen your entire feed losing its mind over this incredibly cursed, low-quality AI image of a polar bear standing upright in the dark. I wanted to make a project about it since the countdown is getting crazy, but I also wanted to explain the actual history behind it for anyone who is confused. The Backstory & The "Prophecy" The whole thing started all the way back in March 2023. A Russian TikTok user uploaded the creepy AI polar bear image with a caption that translated to: "This is a meme from November 2026. You won't understand it yet." Back then, it was just a classic piece of internet "future humor"—the joke was literally just making something completely meaningless to confuse people in the present. But because we have finally reached the end of 2026, the internet did what it does best and took the joke way too far. Over the last few months, creators started making massive analog horror edits, ARG-style countdowns, and elaborate creepypastas about it. Now, people in the comments sections are ironically acting like it’s a literal digital apocalypse or some weird environmental prophecy that's supposed to trigger next month. It’s basically turned into a massive, crowdsourced internet event. Custom Audio Info Most of the videos online use that overused, high-pitched "yoyoyoyoyo" song (which is actually a sped-up song called Cumbia Masonica from an old indie game called Hello Charlotte). I thought that track was getting a bit stale, so I decided to make my own creepy audio mix directly inside Scratch. I went into the native Scratch sound library, pulled out the classic "Cave" ambient track, flipped the entire thing in reverse, and then messed with the effects to give it a glitchy, robotic distortion. It gives the project a much more unique, industrial analog horror vibe! Credits & Thanks: • Original Polar Bear Visuals: Initially generated via AI back in March 2023. • Audio: The Scratch library "Cave" sound, heavily remixed, reversed, and robotized by me. • Inspiration: The current 2026 TikTok analog horror trend.
