Chapter 1: Sunset I woke up to the loud alarm on my clock. I rubbed my eyes groaning. Why did I always need my alarm? Glancing over, I noticed that the time on the clock was 8:50 A.M. I started to panic. School starts in 10 minutes. ¨MOM!¨ I yelled. ¨I SLEPT IN! WHY DID YOU NOT WAKE ME UP?¨ Throwing on random clothes, stuffing things in my backpack, and I pulled my long brown hair into a ponytail. Hopefully it would not get worse. I practically fell downstairs, and ran out the front door. I would totally get back at my mom later. The bus rolled up, and I panted as I walked onto the yellow bus to Acorn High. Watching the very hyper bus, I finally spotted my best friend, Jessie. He scrolled on Youtube, and then saw me fall next to him. Leaning my head on the seat, I looked over at Jessie. ¨Do I look fine?¨ Jessie snickered but shrugged. ¨Did you sleep in again, Letty?¨ I lightly slapped him on the head, making him shrink back. ¨OF COURSE.¨ I said. Pulling out my phone, I noticed that Acorn High sent out an email to everyone who went there, along with the parents. It was about a Homecoming dance... but I would not go of course. No one asked me. I tapped Jessie on the shoulder. ¨Did you get this too?¨ I gestured to my phone, where the email was still up. Jessie nodded slowly. ¨Yep... and my mom told me I HAVE to go because she is doing PTO for it.¨ Jessie looked mad. I always knew his mom wanted to help the school, but for almost ANYTHING our school did, she was involved. Funraiser, Jessie´s mom did it. Schoolwide dance, she did it. Anything. As the bus pulled up to the school, I grabbed my backpack and looked at Jessie. ¨See you at lunch,¨ I jumped off the bus steps and walked into Acorn High. But as I was walking, some mysterious dude bumped into me. He had black hair, and brown eyes the color as chocolate. He looked down at me, and stared for a moment, then moved on. My heart skipped a beat. STOP IT HEART! I did not even know this person, so why do I feel this way? Walking to my locker, I grabbed my stuff, and headed to Pre-Calc. But when I set my school notebooks, and laptop down, I saw the same guy again. And he sat right next to me. He glanced up, and smirked a little. I fought the urge to run, but looked forward. Why did this always happen? CHAPTER 1 END
