alr imma use all my writing skills so here we go- Imagine you are an artist. A real, living, breathing artist with goals and ambitions and a life. Every stroke in your art was made by your hand, every muscle, every tendon, every bone contributing to making that one stroke. It takes only a couple seconds to make yet it is so profoundly human, so profoundly *alive* and it carries such a beauty because of it. Every single finished art piece was crafted by *you*, your hands, your brain, your eyes. Nothing can recreate that exactly the same. *Nothing* can replicate the joy of finishing something you are so, so, *so* proud of, that you made. That you created. Do you realize how much thought and emotion goes into making art? Into *making* anything? Thought and emotion only living things can experience. Not a computer that takes 5 seconds to make a heartless piece of - it can only be described as - slop. And feeding artists' art into AI. SOMEONE MADE THAT ART, THE ONE THAT YOU'RE FEEDING TO *ARTIFICIAL* INTELLIGENCE. SOMEONE, A *REAL* PERSON, CULTIVATED SOMETHING THAT COMPUTERS RUIN. Ruin. That's the word.
thanks for reading <3 please spread the word, this needs to be known. Remember to keep the comments polite. everyone's allowed to have opinions, this is just mine. Sure, feeding people's art to AI might not directly break the Scratch community guidelines. But they break the rules of kindness, integrity, originality, and consent. And aren't those what really matter?
