One of my friends has Tourette’s syndrome but he faces backlash and exclusion all of the time, especially during class. He sometimes feels that he is different and no one will ever get him... but at least I can support people that feel the same way <3 If anyone ever tells you something offensive about your disability, remember that you have a whole team of friends (including me despite the fact you don’t know me) to back you up. :) To my followers reading this and asking: “What is Tourette’s?”Tourette syndrome, or as I’ll refer to it, Tourette's, is a motor disorder that begins in childhood or early teenage years. People like my friend (we’ll refer to him as Myka) who have the disorder experience uncontrollable movements at random times, known as tics. Myka is in a few of my classes at school, and sometimes in the middle of a lesson, he will raise his arms, cough, and sit back down. Now, a lot of people will just ignore it, but a few kids harass him for it. You need to know that the people who have this often feel bad about themselves already, because they are different. But if we try our best, maybe we can make them smile. #Tourette’s #DisabilityAwareness
