When they were little there mother taught him how to use herbs and defend himself, with all his siblings dyeing when they were very, very young, he spent ALOT of time with his mother. His dad was almost never around and would disappear for long periods of time with no explanation. His abilities with herbs and his defense skills make him the ideal traveling companion.
