This was made for SDAS! This is a redraw of another recent scene: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1386719262 AIMS This time, I tried to focus more on planning and composition. Instead of using hue, I tried to use shade to add contrast and draw attention to the focal point. My aim was for the focal point to be the cats, so I tried to draw them darker than the background (shown clearly by the value study). I also tried to add more detail to the background/foreground. PROCESS 1. Finished product! I changed some of the colours from when I coloured it in simply, as I felt like they matched better. 2. My original rough sketch. I tried to use the “rule of three”, with the characters placed over two of the overlaps of lines. I was wondering if there can be two focal points (eg: both cats?) 3. Value study. I didn’t include too much shading, but I tried to make the cats the darkest, to draw the eye towards them. 4. Simple colouring. I focused on using blocks of colour to work colours I wanted to use. (I’d also be happy to hear if you think the original was better in any way)
