This Project was supposed to be a simple platformer to take a break from the BIG scrolling platform I was working on. But I soon realized that I have discovered the use of AABB Collision Detection (Axis-Aligned Bounding Box) It basically is like Griffpatch's original fix overlap except it is more advanced and works very smoothly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pros: - AABB Collision Detection is very simple - This can be an alternative to Griffpatch's hard to remember move in steps script - It is easy to adapt to any project, and versatile. Cons: - It doesn't have error fixing capabilities like Griffpatch's move in steps. (BUUUT the script can be changed to do this aswell, as I said extremely versatile) - It is sensitive to pixel vertical differences but that also can be fixed. - It also doesn't like rotated objects so much ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The limit is yourself with this collision system, that is the only special thing about this project :D.
YOU can make an AABB collision detection system of your own, no need for credits then. BUUUUTT if you are using my system that adapted AABB than you obviously are gonna need to give credit I worked very hard on a simple platformer meant to relax me. SPREAD THE WORD. I may also make multiple engines each with different uses, like static or scrolling platformers, that have backpackable resources, WORKING ON: (ALPHA ENGINE).
