Wip ≡;- ꒰ ❝ Flickers ❞ ·˚ ༘ A Cindersonnet Drp ꒱ Tw ~ D3@th & Bl00d (aka ketchup) ꒰ ꒱ؘ ࿐ ࿔*:・゚ She was tired. So, so tired. She was going to d!3. Her fur was stained crimson despite the healer's efforts. She understood, however. A cinder was a spark, a speck of ash still capable of burning. But the flame was finally kindling out. It flickered feebly as she drew her last breath. And then it was gone. Letting them rest. Finally. ꒰ ꒱ؘ ࿐ ࿔*:・゚ Cindersonnet's life had been a bittersweet one. Some say before your inevitable d3@th, all the memories come rushing back towards you. And they did. She remembered. Talking with Dreamingkit, laughing about flowers. Laughing with Fairkit, talking with her beloved sister for the first time. Stacking rocks with Marvelkit, her sister who'd changed her name. She would always support her. Training with Foxglovegleam. The gull that they'd nearly had a fight with. Catching up with Marvelpaw. Receiving their warrior names, Dreamingwander, Marvelstorm, and Cindersonnet. Making friends with Peregrineflight. Yet... She remembered the broken bodies of her sisters, one from illness, one from a fight. Foxglovegleam k!lled by the very paws of Peregrineflight. Watching. All of it. From start to the end. It broke her, shattered their heart. She sobbed, but tears were not enough for her grief. Yet she kept loving. On and on and on. If she'd gotten to know Marvelstorm's kits, she would've loved them too. Love. That warm, safe feeling of love that spread through you, burning like a fire. The one snatched away from them in an instant. But the one Cin wouldn't hesitate to give. But they couldn't now. Her d3@th was certain; it was just the timing of it. D3@th was an eagle, stalking you. Flying overhead. Watching you. When it was the right time, it came for you. Swooping down and grasping you in its talons. No matter what. And she didn't mind it now. To be caught. She had seen too much. Even the brightest stars burn out. She was just following through. The sunrise was beautiful. It dyed the sky hues of red and gold. Despite the many times she'd watched it, it was still breathtaking as the sun basked the world in its golden light. It would be her last dawn. She was going to StarClan. And then d3@th welcomed them with open paws, and she fell into d3@th's warm embrace.
It seems that you may have known Cindersonnet once in her life, whether enemy, friend, or everything in between. The spark in her has faded, and they have been sadly swallowed by the crimson tide, ascending into the stars.
