Experiment 02, codenamed "Mae," is the colossal, tragic by product of Project Titan—an illegal, underground bio-engineering initiative aimed at creating the ultimate living siege weapon. Regarded by her creator as a catastrophic failure due to her massive, unsustainable size and unpredictable psychological volatility, Mae escaped captivity and now roams the fringes of civilization as a wandering anomaly. Originally a standard human test subject, Mae was chosen for her rare genetic compatibility with the Aegis Serum, a highly volatile growth and tissue-densification agent. During her incubation phase, the serum's inhibitor sequence mutated. Instead of stopping at the targeted height, Mae’s cellular replication entered a perpetual hyper-growth state. Mae grew to a staggering 25 feet tall. Her skeleton thickened into a heavy, reinforced framework to support her massive weight, and her skin developed pale, marble-like dermal plating across her shoulders and back. Her heart and lungs are under constant stress to oxygenate her 25-foot frame, causing her frequent, agonizing growing pains and sudden bouts of physical exhaustion. The scientists attempted to wipe her memory and hardwire absolute obedience into her brain. Instead, the trauma fractured her psyche. She retained a childlike, fragile core personality—naming herself "Mae"—juxtaposed against a terrifying, primal survival instinct. She was entirely uncontrollable. When the facility directors ordered Experiment 02 to be terminated via cryogenic freezing, Mae’s survival instinct took over. In a fit of blind panic and agony, she tore through her reinforced containment cell, collapsed three floors of the underground complex, and broke into the outer world. The lab was completely destroyed, burying most of the data on her creation. Mae lives the life of a gentle giant forced into monstrosity. She hides in deep forests, abandoned industrial sectors, and desolate mountain ranges, trying to avoid human contact. Because she has the mind of a young girl trapped in a 25-foot biological weapon, she is intensely lonely. She is fascinated by small, fragile things (birds, flowers, human trinkets) but is terrified of accidentally crushing them. When cornered, injured, or triggered by flashing lights (reminiscent of the lab), the "Experiment 02" programming overrides her mind. She becomes an unstoppable force of nature, capable of leveling buildings to protect herself before snapping back into a state of weeping remorse.
