Okay, here is my entry, I'm gonna do the prologue of the book I just started. I sat in the living room, listening to the steady beating. My heart. I swallowed hard. Today was the day, my first day as a sercity assistant. Apparently I was so excited, as I hadn't gone to sleep untill, as far as I could tell, midnight. And now I was up again at four in the morning. My palms were sweating. I had been in the police Department for over three months now, and I guess the sheriff thought I was ready for this. Even though I knew it had been my goal, I still didn't think that be six months of practice training and hard work was really enough. Was I really ready for this? If the diamond thief jumped train, someone would have to chase him. And that someone was not going to be me. Or was it? But Matt Dawn would be there, as my guide, and he would be that someone, if the thief even escapes I thought, most likely he won't, just me jumping to conclusions *** I put my car in park, turned it off, and climbed out, grabbing my Western bag and hat off of the passenger seat. I saw a red SUV parked off to the side. Matt's car. He came out of the station to greet me. "Hey Mattie!" He said, waving. "Howdy!" I yelled back, trying to sound like a real western, but I actually probably sounded like a southern. "Need help with the luggage?" He said, coming over. Matt was a tall man of 26. He had medium brown hair, which he typically covered with his cowboy hat. He had, unlike me, always lived in Arizona, moving to different parts throughout his eighteen years living with his parents. I had grown up and lived in Amos Tennessee, about a ten minute bike ride from Nashville. I say bike ride, because that's how I would normally get there, riding along in the wind with my friends, would get me thinking of being bare back on a horse, riding into the wind, my hair flying out behind me. Around year ago, I finally packed and moved out here. Ever since I was a little girl, I had wanted to live in the west, even though if you would have know me, you would probably have considered me a 'typical city girl' And I had always wanted to be a 'police woman on a train' as I had always said when I was little. But my friends and family had thought it dangerous. They tried to persuade me to stay they even said I could stay with them, but my heart had been and would always be, here in Arizona.
