#I forgot to take progress picks ;-; Name: Kelp Gender: Female Pronouns: They, them Core Traits ~~~~~~~~~~ • ~~~~~~~~~~~ Whenever Kelp gets nervous, excited, or deep in thought, they use a front paw to gently tap or adjust the seashell over their eye. ~~~~~~~~~~~ You cannot have a serious conversation with Kelp if a bubble pops nearby or a shiny reflection catches the light. Their attention span is as fleeting as the tide. ~~~~~~~~~~~
Kelp was born deep within a glowing, bioluminescent tidepool cave where the ocean currents met the crashing waves of the shore. From the very beginning, they were different from anyone else. The land-dwelling cats didn't understand why Kelp had a sleek, dark teal fish tail instead of back legs, and the deep-sea mer-creatures couldn't understand why Kelp had soft, pink feline ears that hated the deep ocean pressure. Realizing they belonged to both worlds but fit perfectly into neither, Kelp decided to make the shoreline their personal kingdom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How They Got Their Treasures Kelp’s life became a daily adventure of exploring the boundary between sand and sea, which is exactly how they gathered their signature look: • The Seashell Eye-Patch: One afternoon, while chasing a stubborn hermit crab through a sharp coral reef, Kelp accidentally scratched the left side of their face. To protect their sensitive eye from the stinging salt water and blowing beach sand, they found a perfectly smooth, white bivalve shell. They fastened it over their eye, and it quickly became their favorite feature. • The Kelp Wrap: During a particularly rough tropical storm, Kelp got tangled up in a strong current of shifting seaweed. After breaking free, they realized a vibrant green strand of sea kelp had wrapped perfectly around their hind leg. Instead of taking it off, Kelp thought it looked incredibly stylish and decided to keep it on as a permanent good luck charm. • The Shipwreck Anklet: Kelp's proudest moment came when they discovered the sunken remains of an old wooden ship just past the reef. Braving the dark waters, they swam through the captain's cabin and found a shiny, delicate chain glinting in the dark. They carefully looped it around their front paw, securing their very first true piece of "human treasure." ~~~~~~ Today, Kelp is a well-known legend along the coast. The local seagull flocks know them as the goofy, pink-skinned explorer who tumbles down sand dunes, and the tidepool crabs know them as the curious creature who just wants to tap them on the shell. They spend their days sunbathing on the warm sand, diving for trinkets, and living life entirely by the rhythm of the tides
