Our current king is Ademar I, surrounding him is his cabinet, his heir Ademar II, and dozens of lords that gain land and tax in exchange for their loyalty. They are also bound to the king by their faith, preventing them from rebelling (unless things get really bad). The Miekeysians do not view the land and sea as separate entities, but instead the sea the mother and land the father. Lords can control oceanic territory, with territorial boundaries being just as if it were land. Some lords control areas almost entirely ocean, relying on mostly trade and naval tribute to remain in power. Over the course of a few hundred years, we developed our own culture and language, becoming our own people.
The Keysian parliamentary system consists of 200 Miekeysians. Of the 200, 140 are elected Miekeysians from differing provinces, 40 are Mackreysians (around the northern area of Keyswort), and 20 are lords and dukes appointed by the king.
